HOW DO YOU PLAY TWONETS AIR?
TWONETS AIR is a new racket and paddle sport that is fun for both expert players and people of any level, age and condition. The objective of the game is to get the ball to pass over two 80-centimeter high nets, parallel and 4 meters apart from each other and get the ball to bounce in the opponent’s court.
HOW BIG IS A TWONETS AIR COURT?
We can play four people (doubles), two for two, on a court 18 meters long by 6,7 meters wide; with two parallel nets separated by 4 meters, forming two playing fields of 6,7 meters wide by 6,7 meters long.

GENERAL RULES OF TWONETS AIR
- A point is scored if any player commits a foul, regardless of who serves.
- Every time you score a point you serve again. If the point is lost, the opponent serves.
- The match is played to the best of 21 points, players change sides of the court when they reach 10 points.
- At the beginning of the match the serve is drawn.
- The serve is served as in Badminton, Paddle or Pickleball, that is, below the waist and is served from anywhere, but from outside our baseline; in doubles it is served to any of the two opponents.
- We return waiting behind our net anywhere on our court.
- When we play doubles, it is necessary to say who is the odd player and who is the even player. This way we will know who should serve if the score of the pair is even or odd.
- When we reach 20 points, we will win the point only when we have the serve. If we are 20-20, the even player of each pair will always serve and we will only get the point if we have served first.
TWONETS AIR WAS INVENTED BY A PROFESSOR WHO IS AN EXPERT IN SPORTS FOR ALL
TWONETS AIR was invented by José María Cortés Barrio. The idea started at the end of 2023, Chema, as his friends call him, was looking for dynamics for the students in his Pickleball classes. He noticed that when his students managed to exchange four horizontal volleys in a row, they got very excited. He wondered how he could generate as many horizontal volleys as possible. He knew he needed to get the players a little further away from the net, as the volleys were short-lived.
One morning he woke up thinking what would happen if he placed two nets on the court to keep the opposing players away; that same afternoon he placed two nets on a Badminton court. And it happened, the exchange of volleys was much more numerous and dynamic, the players did not stop smiling and so they continued playing the whole class. It was impressive how addictive it was to play with the two nets, it was like playing paddles on the beach, but it was no longer enough to keep the volleys, now there was an objective, to win the point. So after many variations, tests, stumbles and sleepless nights, Chema was able to create the TWONETS AIR.

WHO ORGANIZES THE TWONETS?
- The INTERNATIONAL TWONETS ASSOCIATION has as its main purpose to promote the development and organization of TWONETS; it will also organize all TWONETS activities worldwide, establishing also the rules of participation and competition.
- The INTERNATIONAL TWONETS ASSOCIATION is the only public organization authorized to regulate TWONETS.
TWONETS AND KICSTARTER, THE TWONETS PROJECT REACHED ITS GOAL
During July 2025, we ran a crowdfunding campaign to raise awareness of Twonets internationally. In this campaign, you could buy your own portable Twonets court. In addition, the names of the contributors would always appear on our website so that, over the years, the world would know that there were brave and crazy people who believed in the first sport played on a court with two nets.
